It is finally time to start packing. The clothes are selected, the suitcases are out. Things we want to be sure and remember (passports, tickets, Spanish dictionary, etc.) are stacked inside them. Monday it will all be organized, packed in and zipped up. Nicaragua, here we come!!

A Nicaragua Primer

The democratic republic of Nicaragua (literally translated as ”Surrounded by Water”) is the largest country in Central America Its elegant, beautifully understated neo-colonial hotels, historic cities and dense, unspoiled rain forests, an ecologist’s delight, will attract the genuine traveler, probably not the casual tourist.

Leon and Granada are the crown jewels in Nicaragua’s diadem. Both are historic, colonial cities.

 Leon’s Cathedral is the largest religious colonial building in Central America, Granada (1524) is the oldest city in the Western Hemisphere.

 Nicaraguans must be the warmest and friendliest people on this planet, they welcome you and make you feel at home.

Food is the integral part of the country of Nicaragua. The tourists and the local natives could enjoy the traditional food and other various cuisines from around the world available in multi-cuisine restaurants of Nicaragua. Nicaragua cuisine comprises of a mixture of Chinese, Thai, French, Italian, Latin American and Spanish recipes. The mouth-watering spicy Nicaraguan delicacies are a primary attraction for the tourists flocking from all over the world.
